(1242) MUSIC AND ME (May 26, 2016) WRONG SEND BY A PALAUAN GUY

PNCC AIRTIME CARD
The Palau National Communications Corporation (PNCC) issues Airtime cards of different denominations for easy and cheap access to internet and long distance call.

WRONG SEND BY A PALAUAN GUY

On Sept. 23, 2015, while inside my room with 3 other co-employees of Palau Royal Resort, I received a $4.00 "pasa load" or passed internet load from someone I don't know.

It becomes convenient now having this system that you can give a member of your family or friends this amount (from $1.00 - whatever amount you still have on your load.

You just dial *670*(the local number like mine 778-5392)*the amount in 100 for $1.00 and so on and finally, press the # and send.   *670*7785392*100# then send and presto, you have given your family member or friend internet load.

After giving me $4.00 load, a Palauan guy called me and speak to me in Palauan language. I said to him, "Sorry, I don't speak Palauan."

What surprise me is he keeps on talking in Palauan and his last words are "f...   you".

I think he's very sure that he gave the load to someone he knows. And very frustrated that he sent it to the wrong person, that's why he has said those words.

Minutes later, he text me with this "PLS CAN U SEND BCK MY AIRTIME WRNG SEND"

I refer this incident to my room mate Allan Malonzo, whom I took a photo of him while having his birthday cake at PRR Lounge...

Allan's reply is not to send back the $4.00 because he's the one who makes the mistake and he uttered bad words to me.

But it's not my way of life to avenge what he has done to me. I returned the $4.00 after 31 minutes because I have to look at the "code" that my wife has given me on how to pass load.

He said a little thank you word -- "thanks."
His number is +680 778 3302

I mentioned this incident also to Ella Asuncion, the secretary of PRR GM Masayuki Kawaguchi and she has the same intention to do as Allan's.

ELLA AND ELI TARGET 2018 WCO IN BATUMI, GEORGIA
Ella Asuncion, 7th from left, GM Kawaguchi, left, secretary, celebrated her birthday on July 20th with Palau Royal Resort staff. Two weeks ago, Ella showed interest to be with Palau Chess Team in the 2018 World Chess Olympiad in Batumi, Georgia. Likewise, Elizalde Madrinan, Japanese Chef, is also targeting a slot at the Open section of 2018 WCO. GOOD LUCK and GANBATTE MASU!

WHATEVER DIFFERENT PERSONS OPINIONS ARE, I HAVE TO DO THE RIGHT THING -- THAT MONEY ISN'T MINE. IT'S NOT A HARD THING TO DO TO UNDERSTAND SOME BAD ACTIONS FROM ANYBODY ESPECIALLY OLDER PEOPLE LIKE HIM.

I'M PROUD TO SAY THAT I'M A 4TH WATCHERS AND WE LEAD A GOOD LIFE, STAY AWAY FROM SIN AND RECOGNIZED GOD'S MASTERPIECES -- CREATION AND SALVATION.

I WILL WRITE A SONG ABOUT THESE GOD'S MASTERPIECES.

                 PRR DART CHAMPS;
                  2016 RAPID CHESS
                  STARTS MARCH 20

BRIAN KLINE Labrador clinched the Class A title of the inaugural Palau Royal Resort Dart Tourney by besting Class A finalist Ryan Camero 2-0 in their best-of-3 finals (Killer Game) while Marlou defeated Marvin Junio in their Class B final encounter with the same score.

In the Doubles Category, the tandem of Paquito ‘Pax’ Suringa, Jr. and Marvin outlasted the duo of Kline and Kleventh John Equares to win the Kayak Tour package for 2 donated by Fish ‘N Fins worth $250.00 while the losing duo won the complimentary dinner for 2 at Waves Restaurant of PRR.
The Class A and Class B winners won equally the grocery items like noodles, detergent, toothpaste/toothbrush, fabric softener, meat loaf, cup noodles, canned tuna, sandwich spread, seasoning, peanuts, Glade, corned beef, soap and sausage.
In the extra mini tourney like who hits the bull’s eye, triple or double more, Marlou and Christopher de Lima won a t-shirt each while Pax won a board shorts.
The organizers of this event—Felix Oling, Jr., Pax, Kline and especially Bobby Maltizo, would like to remind the players/participants that aiming for the prizes is not the spirit of the game but the camaraderie that was experienced during the exciting and fun extra curriculum activities that the PRR management has given.
They should be grateful for it and take advantage of the opportunity to know more about their co-workers. The organizers have done a very good job of the dart tourney in which every player with different schedule has to adjust for the event to finish it on time.
When the first ever chess tournament in Palau has started in June 09, 2002, it has the same problem with participants’ varying schedules but they were able to squeeze their free time to excel and to improve the quality of chess games in Palau.
After almost 14 years, Palau has 335 members now (including Honorary) and has been a member of FIDE (World Chess Federation) in 2005, and has participated in 2009 Oceania Zonal Chess Championship in Australia, 2010 World Chess Olympiad in Russia, 2012 World Chess Olympiad in Istanbul, Turkey,  2013 Guam Invitational Chess Tournament, 2013 World Youth Chess Championship in Abu Dhabi, 2014 World Chess Olympiad in Tromso, Norway, 2015 World Youth Chess Olympiad in Mongolia, 2015 Guam International Chess Tournament, 2015 DATMO Malaysian Open and this year’s World Chess Olympiad in Baku, Azerbaijan (Sept. 1-14, 2016).
GOOD LUCK IN THE PIONEERING OF DART IN PALAU!!!
The 2016 Palau Rapid Chess Championship will start on March 20 at Bethlehem Park. The 5-week, 9-round Swiss system event will have a time format of 25 minutes for each player to finish the game with 10 seconds increment. Every participant must play 2 games every Sunday and one game on the final day to be followed by awarding of medals to the top 3 finishers in both Open and Women’s/Junior category.
First to confirm his participation is Roberto Hernandez and Felix Oling, Jr., who would like to have a farewell tournament before going back for good to Philippines on May 13, 2016.
The Women and junior category will be integrated. If there are only 10 contestants, it will be a single round-robin.

                Solution to last week’s puzzle No. 3828: 1. Qxf7!! Nxf7 2. Rg8+!! Rxg8 3. Nxf7 mate.
(Congratulations to my guitar and chess student Brandon Kyle L. Soriano for solving it.)
