2019 P.B.C.C.
January 13 & 20
at Bethlehem Park
While waiting for the participants to reach 30, players are practicing blitz with time control of 3 minutes + 2 seconds increment.
A lot of participants are not ready when the PCF treasurer Dennis Gonzales didn't agree that it's too much for many chess players to pay $5.00 registration fee and $20.00 1-year membership fee.
More than half of the 26 registered players doesn't have that much. I volunteered to pay for the rest of many players like Morton Sawaichi, right, and Rustum Cabuso, left.
Mohammad Manik Hossain and Jello Aguaras, middle, are able to pay $25.00
My piano/chess student Nicholas Nehez, left, and his friend another newcomer Paul Tucker tried to cope with boredom while waiting for contestants to reach 30. At 3:45, he text his mom using my cell phone. I ran out of cellphone load so he just use text message.
Newcomer Bernard Hilario, middle, had only $5.00 in his possession. I would gladly lend him $20.00 for that day if the participants will reach 30.
At 4:30, we hold at 10-player mini-blitz chess contest as there are enough for a single-round robin matches using the same time control.
