THE UEHARA FAMILY WILL COME BACK TO PALAU IN OCT. 2016
Usually in the last couple of years, the Uehara family come to Palau 4 times a year. They didn't make it for a year and a half last year and when they come back, a new chapter in their friendship with resident musician of Palau Royal Resort Roberto Hernandez begins.
They will come again to Palau in Oct. 2016 after Roberto has come back from participating in the 2016 World Chess Olympiad in Baku, Azerbaijan.

                     ROUND 5 OF 2016
       WORLD CHESS OLYMPIAD IN
                  BAKU, AZERBAIJAN
               Somalia --- 3.5 -- Palau .5

The Palau Chess Team for Round 5 of 2016 World Chess Olympiad in Baku, Azerbaijan underestimated the Somalian team that don't have even a single player with a FIDE rating.

All players from Board 1-3 (Paquito Suringa, Jr., Allan Alcid and Jeff Balbalosa, respectively) move so fast that they are beaten quickly.

At Board 4, Roberto Hernandez averted a shutout when he was forced to a draw by Mohamed Ahmed Nor after the latter captured Roberto's bishop with a rook to leave them with a king each, a pawn for Nor and a knight for Roberto.
