(1089) HERNANDEZ TOPS 2005 MID-YEAR BLITZ CHESS FEST (TBN-July 15-22, 2005)

FREE BANANAS FROM ROBERTO
Once in a while, Roberto is bringing ripe bananas at tournament site for players to have as snack while playing. Here, he brought some and put on the tables donated by Nilo de Jesus to Knights and Rooks Chess Club (Palau) in January 2004. Eric Espartero, right, whipped Joel Azana, who nipped Gene Pastrana, standing, earlier in the afternoon while Lin de Guzman, left, practices with Cyril Montel, Jr. De Guzman skipped this tournament--the 2005 Open, but participated in the Mid-Year Blitz Chess Fest held on July 10, 2005.                      (Photo by Roberto Hernandez)
