(1210) 2008 PNCC Rd. 11-Hernandez Nips Pax in 38 Moves (TBN-Aug. 08-14, 2008)

        2008 PALAU NATIONAL CHESS CHAMPIONSHIP
                                       Round 11
HERNANDEZ NIPS PAX IN 38 MOVES

IN THE resumption of the 11th round of play of the 2008 Palau National Chess Championship, 5th seed Roberto Hernandez took the measure of fellow co-employee at Palau Royal Resort Paquito ‘Pax’ Suringa, Jr. in 38 moves of Danish Gambit at the Dormitory 1 of PRR.
As early as the 9th move, Hernandez is already ahead by a knight because of lackluster play of Pax. On the 14th move, he blundered away another knight when he missed the more precise 14. …Rg6, with counter play. A king hunt ensued on the 21st move and when Pax blundered away a rook, thinking that he will be stalemated, he resigned immediately.
