          2015 UNRATED CHESS TILT
       POSTPONED TO JULY 12, 2015
           (7 PLAYERS REGISTERED)
THE 2-Sunday Unrated Chess tournament was postponed due to low turnout of participants.

As of 5pm on the opening day (Sunday, July 05), only 7 players have registered. It's been agreed by the Board of Directors of Palau Chess Federation to postpone the event on July 12 and will finish it on the same day as there will be another rapid chess tournament starting on July 19 -- the 2015 Palau Rapid Chess Championship.

The 7-round Swiss system event will start at 2pm if the number of participants will reach at least 10 players.

Those who registered and paid there registration fee of $2.00 are: 1. Koichi Matsuda (Birth date: Feb. 10, 1944; mobile no. 778-9433) 2. Arnolfo Inres (Sept. 13, 1966; tel. no. 778-3287) 3. Joan Gemota (June 24, 1985; 779-6454) 4. Pons Mahor (May 30, 1959) 5. Allan Alcid (April 13, 1964; Tel. No. 779-5618) 6. Johnny Carandang (Jan. 04, 1978; 778-2411) and 7. Edward Artillaga (Oct. 01, 1988; 778-1143)

Roberto Hernandez made an announcement written on a paper and ask the basketball announcer/analyst to announce the following:
"CHESS TOURNAMENT FOR UNRATED PLAYERS WILL START TODAY AND NEXT SUNDAY, JULY 12, 2015.
ONLY UNRATED PLAYERS CAN JOIN. THERE WILL BE CASH PRIZES AND TROPHIES TO THE TOP 3 FINISHERS.
       REGISTRATION FEE IS ONLY $2.00".

Upon learning about the tournament, Joan Gemota registered and paid her $2.00 registration fee. She's is sitting at the Committee table for the recording of statistics of the ongoing basketball game, where the league is being sponsored by The Filipino Community in Palau.

Roberto is one of the elected Board Members of TFCP. He sits at the Committee table when there are no chess tournaments ongoing.

Roberto was able to convince Koichi Matsuda to join and offered to pay his registration fee. Matsuda is an Honorary Member of Palau Chess Federation. He is always in sight during tournaments at Bethlehem Park.

It's his first time to play in an international tournament. When him and Inres practice, Koichi always forget to press his time clock after making a move.

Supposed to be, the contestants have to play 4 rounds on the first Sunday and 3 rounds on July 12, and then the Awarding Ceremony will be held right away.

Now, all players have to play 7 games on July 12, which is possible because the time control is 10 minutes for each player to finish the game.
