(923) MANUEL, OMEGA DRAW IN 44 MOVES IN RD. 3 0F 2003 SR. & JR. CHESS TILT (TBN-Oct. 09-16, 2003)

MANUEL, OMEGA -- DRAW IN 44 MOVES
                     (Round 3 -- 2003 Senior & Junior Chess Tilt)

Jose Omega (1665 National Rating) has played 3 games already prior to his 3rd round match with top seed Menandro Manuel. He defeated Mike Miguel, Jr. in the former's residence on Sept. 27 (Sat.) and lost to Miguel's best friend Danny Dandoy the next day. He won against Rolando Funa on the opening day.

In the first game of the 3rd round, Dandoy felt to sting of the talking and taunting Ivan II Chess Computer and lost to it. It's now time for Manuel to test the chess skills of Omega and they drew in 44 moves of French Defence (unusual 2nd move by black).
