Newcomer Alfredo Pacenos, Jr. outwitted Mohammad Manik Hossain in 57 moves in his first game of 2013 PNCC. Pacenos did well in the 2013 Palau Blitz Chess Championship to get a Blitz rating of 1703.

Palau's Top woman chess player Angie Parrado is contemplating her move against Baby Edna Mission during the first game of the women's division of 2013 Palau National Chess Championship held on August 04 at Bethlehem Park. Parrado received her Woman National Master title before their game. Angie Parrado, Palau's woman top chess player, defeated Baby Edna Mission, Palau's no. 3 in the first round/opening day action of 2013 Palau National Chess Championship.

This certificate of being Palau's first Woman National Master was given to Angelica Parrado on Aug. 04, 2013 at Bethlehem Park during the opening day of 2013 Palau National Chess Championship.
