Special 10th round game of top seed Cyril Tomas Montel, Jr., right, and Paquito Suringa, Jr. on Friday, October 4 at 9pm. They used an hour each time control because Paquito is working at 11am. Cyril prevailed and dealt Pax his 8th loss.                                          (Photo by Roberto Hernandez)

Gene Pastrana won 2 games in the final round of 2013 PNCC to finish a respectable 4th place, 2 steps higher than his seeding. Those 2 games are in Rapid time control and they didn't write their moves that favors him. Rustum Cabuso and top seed Cyril Tomas Montel, Jr. have complained about his unsportsmanlike and unprofessional attitude of not writing or updating all his moves during the game and wants to copy his opponent's score sheet after their game.                               (Photo by Roberto Hernandez)

The most crucial game of the junior division -- unbeaten Destiny Sisior, left, and undefeated Ksau Anthony Whipps. Look at the face of Ksau -- KILLER INSTINCT!

Jose Celiz, middle, watches the game of Eugenio Pastrana, left, and Nilo de Jesus. He said he will be an observer in the final day as he clinched the title when he defeated Rustum Cabuso on Friday night.
BUT... he played his unplayed game against Nilo in rapid time control and lost!

Special game of the top 2 seeds of 2013 PNCC --Cyril Tomas Montel, Jr., left, subdued Roberto Hernandez at Bethlehem Park on Friday, Oct. 04, at 4:15 pm in a game watched by many Palauans working at nearby government offices.                                          (Photo by Roberto Hernandez)

Tito Cabunagan, 2nd from right, played his "drawn" game with Nilo de Jesus and lost instead. Their game was listed as draw because Tito went to Philippines for a week and came back just in time to finish his 3 'drawn' games in rapid time control. He won 1 but lost 2 and finished with 3.5 instead of 4.0 points if it stays that way.                                                                                (Photo by Roberto Hernandez)
