TAKASHI MURAYAMA STOPPED PLAYING PIANO
Ms. Hiromi Murayama said to Roberto that her son Takashi stopped playing piano after studying for one year. When he saw Roberto playing, he likes to continue taking piano lessons. Maybe by featuring them here, his interest to learn will be more inspiring.

MANY customers of Palau Royal Resort’s Waves Restaurant are amaze when they pass behind me while I’m playing piano. When they saw that I’m not reading notes while I’m playing, they are wondering how did I know all the songs that I’m playing without looking at the notes or musical scores.
They will become more curious when they see a thin notebook where I look for the next song that I will be playing. That notebook is the index of songs that I can play or repertoire notebook. It is written alphabetically and the pages are color-coded:
R – for Red notebook where less than 100 Beatles songs are hand-written at the last 50 pages;
B– for Blue notebook DB – for Dark Blue notebook
DBI –is for Dark Blue notebook with International songs at the last 25 pages.
G– for Green notebook with Palauan songs at the last 15 pages.
V– for Violet notebook and J for Japanese songs.
Many guests can’t resist asking me, “How do you able to play all those songs without looking at the notes?” They will all laugh when I point to my head and say,“COMPUTER!”
Very, very few musicians can memorize or play less than 2,000 songs without musical notes at their front.
