APPLICANTS FROM UKRAINE, BULGARIA IN OCTOBER 21, 2007, December 28, 2007, September 9, 2008 and November 25, 2008, Palau Chess Federation through its Secretary/Treasurer Roberto Hernandez and Chairman Francis 'Sno' Temaungil were offered by 2 Grandmasters from Ukraine and 2 from Bulgaria, chess coaching/playing jobs for Palau. The first one was from GM Aleksander Vaisman kv8888d34@gmail.com that says: "Dear Mr. Roberto A. Hernandez, I am a professional chess trainer from Kharkov (Ukraine), 10+3 IGM, 2 WGM, 7+2 IM and 1 WIM are prepared by me in the various countries. I worked with all my students during the moment of performance by them of these norms and reception of the category from FIDE (World Chess Federation). I continue to work with many students and now. I give them the practical help by preparation and participation in the World and European championships, in Chess Olympiads, in the championships of the countries and in other competitions. I have experience on planning preparation and participation in competitions of teams. I had job as the main coach: 1. Team of the students former USSR-winner of team championship of the World. 2. The team which has gained CUP of the European Champion among women club teams (Slovenia 1999). 3. Chief Coach of Jordanian national team on 15th Asian Games (Doha 2006). 4. Chief coach of Amman's club on 7th Arabian clubs tournament (Amman 2006) -bronze medal. 5. The Jordanian national team on championships of the Arabian countries. 6. National team of Jamaica (Kingston - 2002). Manu times I had my job as trainer of young teams and women teams in Ukraine. My name is Rosen Shivachev and I have one daughter --D0nika Shivachev, who is 8 years old and plays chess. This year she won all chess championships in Bulgaria under 8 years, she won 2nd place in European Rapid championship in Subotica, Serbia and 18th place in world championship in Antalia, Turkey. I want Donika play chess from name of Palau. Donika have coach - Stanislav Glavchev and I am manager. The specialists said that she has chess talent and we think she may be champion. Donika wants to play chess but in Bulgaria it is difficult. There is no money for chess. Next year she is 9 years old and I have she play chess from name of Palau. If somebody pay her expenses she is playing from name of Palau next year, including world championship in Vietnam. These 4 applicants were not accepted as PCF don't have the resources to hire over-qualified coach or player. PCF accepted the offer of Mr. Jan Olav-Berglund as he offered coaching/training job for free. He even paid the Palau's 2008 membership fee due to FIDE of more than $500.00 out of his own pocket.
