Newcomer Alfredo Pacenos, Jr. joined in the penultimate round and played 12 games. He scored a win over Tito Cabunagan. A new talent in chess has been discovered. His first game against Elpidio Manaligod, left, is a draw by 3-move repetition which he is not aware of.
