      NOT ONLY A MUSICIAN/CHESS PLAYER
          BUT ALSO THRASH COLLECTOR

It's my first time to hear Sis. Adelaida Salvador to deliver a message at Morning Devotion of Pentecostal Missionary Church of Christ (4th Watch) Palau Locale on Friday, May 05, 2017 from 5-6am.

I did the Scripture Reading that morning: Deuteronomy 28:31-40. I usually attend that every morning services on Wednesdays, where I deliver the message and on Fridays.

Sis. Adelaida is very good during Opening Prayers on Sunday's services, whether in Tagalog or English, especially when we have American, Japanese, Chinese or Palauan visitors.

Her verses used that morning were Acts 2:42-43; James 4:17; II Chronicles 7:14; Luke 24:49; and Acts 1:8.

Our resident Minister Sis. Loriz Singca Navarro added some Bible verses Philippians 3:14; I Timothy 1:19-20; Philippians 3:12-13 and 1 Corinthians 9:7.

As usual, after the Morning Devotion, I will proceed to Palau Track and Field oval to jog/run for half an hour doing 6 laps with half of it running and the other half is walking fast. During 1st, 3rd and 5th laps, I'm doing 10 push ups.

On my last (6th) lap, I pick up a small plastic bag and started picking the small and big thrashes that were eyesores to joggers/runners.

Halfway to my last lap walking slowly, I heard a voice from one of the regular runners/joggers in the oval saying, "So, you're not only a chess player/musician but also a thrash collector." I just smile and we had a conversation about environment. I know him by face. I forgot his name but he's one of the higher ranking official in Palau government.

I just learned on Jan. 18, 2018 that his name is Yukiwo Dengokl,  a former Palau Senator, when he had a dinner with his son at Waves Restaurant. He gave me $5.00 tip and we had a 15-minute conversation at Coral Bar of Waves Restaurant of Palau Royal Resort. He gave me an Asahi beer while we are talking.

He also said that if all the people are like me, Palau will be very clean. He specifically mention the ocean thrash that came from Indonesia that's clogging the Palau shorelines.

I mention to him that in some parts of the Philippines, they are banning the use of plastic bag and are using paper bags that are good for environment. I add also that Senator Surangel Whipps, Jr. introduces a bill at the Senate to use paper bags also in the stores. Their Surangel's Department Store and Supermarket are using a green plastic bags that decomposed after 7 months.

When I finished my 6th lap, he is also finished and ahead of me by a few meters.

I remember a few weeks ago when I'm collecting bigger thrash and the oval is wet due to rain that night, one old lady who is also a regular jogger/runner there shouted at me when I'm taking the large thrash of big black thrash bag that was brought their by dogs, "I should have taken a photo of you and post it at Facebook!"

I ate breakfast at Palau Royal Resort's canteen and took a 4-hour sleep from 8-12noon. Took my lunch at 1pm and went to town for an errand. When I returned to PRR, somebody park at my designated parking area. I park at the front of the door entrance of Dormitory 1 and played blitz chess with my teammate to 2016 World Chess Olympiad in Baku, Azerbaijan Paquito 'Pax' Suringa, Jr.

Before 6pm, the security personnel Rhine Saburo shouted at me while playing chess, "Why you park like that. You're blocking the entrance to the Dorm!"

I replied, "Somebody parked at my space."
He replied back "with authority", "Then you should find a space and not there."

It's very easy to say, "It's vacant now. You can now move your car."

When I'm moving my car, he still saying a lot of words that make me pissed off --"Use your head, use your head."

I get off my car and said, "If you're doing your job, that space should not have been parked by other car of non-employee."

He return back and said, "I have many things to do. Do you think I will spend all my time just to watch your parking space?" And he slammed very hard the front left door of my car.

I know he's not doing many things. In his 8-hour job, 6 hours there are sitting jobs. Watching the parking areas will take only a few seconds.

Since then, I'm not talking to him. He used to come to Breeze Bar and make himself busy to show me that he is doing something especially when he is seeing me coming.

My disappointment with him was eased when I've got $40.00 tip from 5 different guests of Waves Restaurant and Breeze Bar.

I told him a story before that his brother, Father Rusk Saburo has been a guest at Image Restaurant where I played piano for 13 years, with 5 other priests. They have finished their dinner when they remember that they haven't pray before eating!
