                Geoffrey Borg, FIDE CEO, has been to Palau twice in 2014 and initiated the Chess In Schools program of FIDE and conducted FIDE Trainers seminar in Palau where 14 local players gained their Instructor titles. THE PALAU Chess Team composition was submitted to Kema Goryaeva, the Registration and Accreditation Manager of 2016 World Chess Olympiad in Baku, Azerbaijan, on June 16, 2016 by Roberto Hernandez and Jeffrey Balbalosa, who are also members of the team Palau.
                The meticulous system of registration was finally completed after all members submitted their scanned passports for accreditation. The next step is to wait for the accreditation badges and individual invitations for the members of the team. The visa application forms were already sent with the “Purpose of Journey” (42nd Chess Olympiad), “Number of Entries” (Single), and “Receiving Party (Name,  Address of Company of Private Person) Baku Chess Olympiad Operating Committee, 93 Zarifa Aliyeva Street, AZ 1000 Baku, Tel. +994 12 599 10 90 already filled-up.
                Roberto typed the “AGREEMENT” that states ‘’As per Palau Chess Federation’s Board Meeting on June 02, 2016, the five (5) members of Palau Open Chess Team to 2016 World Chess Olympiad in Baku, Azerbaijan must deposit $500.00 as bond to ensure the commitment of the players to the said Olympiad. The deadline is June 15, 2016. If a player didn’t make it to the Olympiad, his bond is non-refundable and will become a fund of PCF. Please sign this agreement after paying your $500.00

                Balbalosa, Gonzales and Alcid deposited their bonds in the morning of June 15, 2016 while Hernandez and Suringa, Jr. did it in the afternoon at 2:15.
                In that Board Meeting, the 2018 World Chess Olympiad in Batumi, Georgia’s Palau Chess Team composition was also tackled. The winner of 2016 Palau National Chess Championship, to be held after the Baku Olympiad, will automatically gain a slot to the Batumi Olympiad. There will be women’s team this time as it is FIDE election year (every 4 years) that coincides with that Olympiad.
                A few hours after submitting the composition of Palau Chess Team, Roberto got an email from Ms. Kema Goryaeva, thanking him for registering Team Palau. Later that day, Roberto checked all of his 5,000 Facebook friends and Ms. Kema Goryaeva is one of them. It is only then that Roberto has confirmed that she is a lady. Her complete first name is Kermen that’s why Roberto is not sure of the gender.
                Roberto checked also the 17-page Invitaiton-42nd Chess Olympiad, 87th FIDE Congress Baku 2016- Baku Chess Olympiad Operating Committee (BCOOC)—the office address is Zarifa Aliyeva 41, AZ 1000, Baku, Azerbaijan. The 93 in the visa form is 41 while the office telephone is +994125991091 with the last number in visa form being 0 not 1.
                The Baku Chess Olympiad Operating Committee Structure is: Mahir Mamedov, Director; Joanna Golas, Deputy Director; Murad Isgandarli, Executive Director; Jahangir Agharahimov, Operations Director; Rauf Hajili, Finance Director; Rahim Gasimov, IT Director.
