Burundi's
top player Yves Ndikumana, left, scored the only point in their match
against Palau in Round 8 against Roberto Hernandez, right. In the 2012
World Chess Olympiad in Istanbul, Turkey, Roberto won by default over
Yves when he didn't make it to Istanbul. Only Deo Ntagasigumwami and
another teammate made it. In 2010 WCO in Russia, Roberto and Tito
Cabunagan were not allowed to play because of a minimum 3-player
requirement that started in 2008 Dresden, Germany WCO. Burundi was
allowed to play even with only 2 players because they asked FIDE
President Kirsan Ilyumzhinov to allow them to play.
