round where it was a Swiss System event. Due to schedule conflict of
many players, it is now a single round-robin event. Pax whipped JJ in 56
moves of Pirc Defence.

Alfredo Pacenos, Jr., right, tested Palau top player Cyril Tomas Montel, Jr. on his knowledge of the Caro-Kann Defence. Pacenos lasted 45 moves before conceding with the threat of mate in 2 moves.
