(1563) MUSIC AND ME -325 (July 19, 2018) HALF NAKED GENEROUS JAPANESE GUESTS

HALF-NAKED GENEROUS
JAPANESE GUESTS

ALMOST the whole month of June, 2018, we have a regular Japanese guests (3 of them) that mostly talking. The guy sitting at right always give me tips of $3.00 or $5.00 while requesting Carpenters songs, old American songs, Beatles songs, etc. and sometimes Japanese songs.

In the last weeks of June, 2018, one of them is always half-naked while at the Breeze Bar of Palau Royal Resort.

On June 26, 2018, I didn't know that it's their last night in Palau. The cashier Len Pielago had a photo session with them. The guy at right, sitting, gave me $20.00 this time. When it's 11:00 pm, before punching out of work (duty) I go to their table and have photo session with them saying, "It's my turn to have photo session with you, guys!"

(647) MUSIC AND ME (Nov. 07, 2013) HAPPY, LUCKY HALLOWEEN

ALLAIN "THE DEATH" NATIVIDAD
Palau Royal Resort buffet man Allain Natividad performs the character of "The Death" during the Halloween night at Waves Restaurant of PRR on Oct. 31, 2013. The costume becomes a hit with the guests that almost all of them have a picture taken with him likewise this one.                                          (Photo by Roberto Hernandez)

         HAPPY, LUCKY HALLOWEEN

ON October 31, 2013, the Waves Restaurant of Palau Royal Resort held a Halloween Dinner with the staff wearing make-up of scary characters like Count Dracula, the witch, corpse-like make-ups and so on.

But the most scary and caught the attention of many guests is Allain Natividad's costume of "The Death" complete with the caret.

I can't think of any appropriate songs for this occasion but Count Dracula (Edwin Acuyan- the Food & Beverage Manager) asked my just play slow songs.

We have some Japanese, Taiwanese and American guests so I just played some songs from these countries. Got no tip for 2 hours of playing...

When I proceed at Breeze Bar at 9pm, there were only 4 guests (all Japanese ladies) in 2 tables side by side near the spot where I play keyboard.

I set up the keyboard very close to them, about a meter far. Those Japanese ladies are in their mid-20's. I gave 2 song books to the ladies to my right. The other 2 are busy talking.

Mostly, the requests of the 2 ladies are Japanese songs but they also requested American songs like "Yesterday Once More" and "Top of The World" -- both are by The Carpenters, who are one the most popular groups in Japan.

When I sing the Japanese song "Oribia O Kikinagara", the 2nd lady from left took a video of me singing that song. She is wearing a very short skirt and her tanned legs are subject for lust.

When I sing "Let It Be", she again took some video of me (half way) and once in a while focus the camera to her friend.

The two girls from my right requested "Tsunami", which I said to them "muzukashi uta", which means "difficult song" so I borrowed the 'romaji' (written in English so that I can understand) version and have them the Kanji/Hirakana version.

The Romaji version of "Tsunami" can be seen on top of the keyboard. These 2 young Japanese ladies requested another song that I needed to see the music score to be able to play it correctly.

I'm teaching Mr. Yoshiharu Kurata, a senior JICA (Japan International Cooperation Agency) volunteer music twice a week (Monday and Thursday -11:30am-12:30pm).

One of the Japanese songs in our repertoire is "Nada Sou Sou", which the 2 Japanese ladies have requested that Halloween night.

I asked for the music score again and I played it instrumental while they are singing it.

When I sing the last song "Yesterday", the 2nd lady from my left took another video of me while singing it.

She asked for their bill, pays it and before leaving, put $20.00 on top of the keyboard. I didn't expect it that big because she don't even request any song.

THE OTHER 2 LADIES ALSO GAVE ME TIP --- $1.00 from each of them.

I gave each of them my card and thank them for having a memorable Halloween night at Palau Royal Resort's Breeze Bar.

After they left, I have some souvenir photos from the "Halloween board"...

(510) MUSIC AND ME (June 20, 2013) See You Again In August 2013 Mr. Uehara and Family

DISNEY SONGS, CARPENTERS, BEATLES AND SHEENA EASTON
(L-R) Mrs. Satoku Uehara, Miss Uehara, Roberto Hernandez and Mr. Uehara during the family's 2nd visit to Palau-March 16-19, 2013. They always request to Roberto the songs from Disney movies, Carpenters, Beatles and Sheena Easton. They like also the theme from Titanic "My Heart Will Go On". (Photo by Roberto Hernandez)

SEE YOU AGAIN IN AUGUST 2013
            MR UEHARA AND FAMILY

THE UEHARA family have visited Palau 4 times in 2012 and twice this year (January 03-06 and March 16-19).

I gave them a copy of Tia Belau with them featured in Music and Me column. Their daughter is expecting it because she said in January 6, "Feature us again in newspaper."

I have compiled all the 3 issues of Tia Belau and reprinted color photos especially made for them.

There is some inconveniences that happened in their last day (March 19, 2013):

After having dinner at Dragon Tei Japanese Restaurant where they met my wife Flor there, they proceed to Breeze Bar of Palau Royal Resort to say goodbye to me.

Their daughter showed me a picture from her cell phone showing a photo of them with my wife. They said they insist to have a photo with my wife because she considered her as member of their family.

Minutes later, the place was disturbed by a group of Taiwanese guys who brought a cooler with beers, which is not allowed or they have to pay $2.00 for each can of beer that they will consume.

They are very noisy and disturbed the other Japanese couples having a good time with my music.

One cocky Taiwanese guy who talks very loud and drunk already looked for the General Manager at 10:20 in the evening!

The restaurant supervisor told him that all managers are already sleeping at that time. He doesn't accept simple explanation. Security personnel are already around.

The older Japanese couple can't stand the commotion and paid their bill hurriedly.

Before 11 pm, it's already settled. I went to Mr. Uehara's table and gave them the 2 reprint pictures of us (5"x8" size) at Waves Restaurant and the 8 best photos of my grandson Zach.

I sang "My Heart Will Go On" with the key transposed 3 steps higher.

Before going home, Mr. Uehara gave me another $20.00 tip. I asked them when they will come back again to Palau. They said in August.

SEE YOU AGAIN IN AUGUST!!!

There will be no issue of Tia Belau but this unpublished issue is better!
