(1521) 2018 PRCC Concludes--Bobot, Angelo, Me, Angelil, Gian Gabriel and Nick are Winners

One of the crucial games of the Junior Division of 2018 Palau Rapid Chess Championship is this game between Destiny Sisior, left, and Gian Gabriel Claronino, who needs to win this game and hope that Destiny's older sister Angelil would lose to my piano/chess student, to have a legitimate chance at the championship. It's not meant to be as he lost to Destiny and settled for 1st runner-up.                      (All photos here by Roberto Hernandez)

My piano/chess student, right, have a winning position vs. eventual champ Angelil Sisior but couldn't find the right continuation and lost badly. He settled for 3rd place for his first medal in Palau in less than a year. The two will be the members of my Team Roberto together with Glen Navarroza for the first ever Palau Team Chess Championship to start soon. Bobot Tan, farthest right, will head his Bobot Team together with Leif Toribiong, Baby Edna Mission, 3rd from left, and Gian Gabriel Claronino, at the right side of him.

Team of Angelo Salvadora, 4th from left, includes Paquito Suringa, Jr., Angelica Parrado and former Junior champion Ksau Anthony Whipps. If he's not available, Gian Paloma will be the replacement.

I asked her, right, to award the medal on behalf of my other co-winners (3rd place--Tito Cabunagan and Rustum Cabuso). Tito Team is compose of Gonzalo Escapatoria, Jr., Destiny Sisior and her youngest sister Kyarii while Team Rustum have Manuel Mahor, Jr., Angelica Magno and Michael Gulla. Cyril Team will have Jeff Balbalosa and mother and son Jennifer Angeles and Aome.
Dennis Team have Wilson Barrameda but he left Palau for good and he has a choice for his replacement--Gabriell Garcia, Mohammad Manik Hossain, Neph Macasaet or Elizalde Madrinan. His woman team member is Joan Gemota and Rommel Gulla as junior member.
